Vascular/Duplex Ultrasound

This includes studies of the:

Carotid arteries: Examine the neck arteries to identify atheroma (fatty deposits), which can put the patient at high risk of stroke.

Abdominal Aorta; examine the main artery in the body – looking for an aneurysm  ( swelling /bulge in the artery). To check for AAA (Abdominal aortic aneurysm).

Peripheral arteries: Examine the leg arteries looking for atheroma/narrowing or aneurysms within the arteries. With claudication.

Peripheral veins: Examine deep veins,in cases of leg swelling/ pain to look for DVT(deep vein thrombosis.
Examine Varicose veins to map them out and see where they arise from. This enables the most appropriate treatment.
